Common questions

Fit, shipping and returns

Are HG Jewellery gemstones natural?

HG Jewellery offers a selection of natural gemstones, and laboratory-grown gemstones, and selected gemstone simulants. The type of gemstone will be clearly identified in the individual product description whenever applicable.

We believe strongly in honest gemstone disclosure and make reasonable efforts to accurately describe every piece based on available supplier information, documentation, testing and examination.

What type of metal does HG Jewellery use?

HG Jewellery pieces are crafted from 925 sterling silver and may feature rhodium plating or another disclosed surface finish.

The metal and finish used for each jewellery piece will be identified in the applicable product description.

Rhodium plating helps provide a bright, polished appearance, but like other jewellery finishes, it may gradually wear over time depending on use, chemistry and jewellery-care habits.

Why might my gemstone look slightly different from the website photo?

Natural gemstones are individually formed and may contain natural inclusions, colour variations, patterns or other characteristics that make each stone unique.

Photography, lighting conditions, screen settings and device displays may also cause slight colour differences.

For products containing natural gemstones, minor differences in colour, clarity, pattern or inclusions are normal and are not considered defects.

Does HG Jewellery make custom jewellery?

HG Jewellery primarily offers ready-made jewellery and gemstones, but we may accept selected customization, resizing, special-order or made-to-order requests.

Custom services can include certain resizing, special stone-setting requests, engraving or specially arranged production when available.

Any pricing, deposit requirements, estimated production time and applicable return conditions will be explained before customized work begins.

What happens if a stone becomes loose or falls out?

Please contact HG Jewellery as soon as possible and provide photographs and purchase information.

We will review the situation to determine whether it may be related to workmanship, accidental damage, normal wear or another cause.

Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate solution may include repair, replacement, an approved local repair arrangement, store credit, refund or another reasonable solution.

Customers should contact HG Jewellery before arranging third-party repairs if they are requesting warranty assistance or reimbursement.

Do you ship outside Canada, and will I have to pay customs or duties?

HG Jewellery may ship to selected international destinations where shipping services are available.

Customers outside Canada may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, VAT or other fees imposed by their country or local authorities.

These charges are generally separate from the HG Jewellery purchase price unless specifically stated otherwise at checkout.

International customers should review their country’s import requirements before placing an order.
